On November 17, 2008, SketchUp 7 was released with integration of SketchUp's Component Browser with Google 3D Warehouse, LayOut 2 and dynamic components that respond to scaling. Google SketchUp Pro 6 introduced a beta version of Google SketchUp LayOut which includes 2D vector tools and page layout tools allowing presentations to be produced without the need for a separate presentation program. On January 9, 2007, Google announced Google SketchUp 6, a free downloadable version of SketchUp, including integrated tools for uploading content to Google Earth and to the Google 3D Warehouse. Google acquired Software on March 14, 2006, attracted by Software's work developing a plugin for Google Earth. This C-130 Hercules model was made in SketchUp and rendered with Kerkythea. Google Lund + Slaatto project designed in SketchUp Many different 3D and 2D exporters are available in SketchUp for uses such as rendering. The first macOS release of SketchUp won a "Best of Show" at Macworld in 2002. The program won a Community Choice Award at its first tradeshow in 2000. SketchUp was created in August 2000 as a 3D content creation tool and was envisioned as a software program for design professionals. SketchUp was developed by startup company Software of Boulder, Colorado, co-founded in 1999 by Brad Schell and Joe Esch. The program includes drawing layout functionality, surface rendering in different "styles", and enables placement of its models within Google Earth. Owned by Trimble Inc., the program is currently available as a web-based application, SketchUp Free, and three paid subscriptions, SketchUp Shop, SketchUp Pro, and SketchUp Studio, each with increasing functionality. ![]() SketchUp is a suite of subscription products that include SketchUp Pro Desktop, a 3D modeling computer-aided design (CAD) program for a broad range of drawing and design applications - including architectural, interior design, industrial and product design, landscape architecture, civil and mechanical engineering, theater, film and video game development. ![]() ![]() More advanced tools include rigid, realistic body, fluid, cloth and softbody dynamics simulation, modifier-based modeling, character animation, a node-based material and compositing system, and embedded scripting in Python.MacOS 11+ (Big Sur) and macOS 10.15+ (Catalina) Įnglish, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional) K-3D is intuitive, consistent, and discoverable.īlender (Available in the software center)īlender is a free open source 3D graphics application, available under the GNU General Public License for the Linux, Mac OS X, FreeBSD, OpenBSD and Microsoft Windows operating systems.īlender's features include 3D modeling, UV unwrapping, texturing, rigging, water and smoke simulations, skinning, animating, rendering, particle and other simulations, non-linear editing, compositing, and the ability to create interactive 3D applications, video games, animated film, or visual effects. New artists will find K-3D easy to understand, and professionals feel right at home. K-3D's interface uses your platform's look-and-feel, and it's consistent with the applications you already know. Highlights include subdivision surface based modelling tools, skeleton based animation, and a graphical language for designing procedural textures and materials. Many of its capabilities rival those found in commercial programs. Art of Illusion is a free, open source 3D modelling and rendering studio.
